Lovely Weather

The last two days have been super lovely.  The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and the kids and I have tried to take full advantage of it.

Zsolt has been teaching Anara proper sword fighting.

Except…she doesn’t get a sword, really. 

Just a disc thrower.

But that doesn’t hold her back.  She goes after him with gusto!

Time for a duel.

Have at him, Anara!

Tonight we were out once again.

 

Mwahaha! “Zsolt close it!”

 

Luckily, she thinks it’s fun.

Probably because he always lets her right out.

 

Tonight she had a shoulder shrug thing going on.

I don’t know why.

She looks equally perplexed.

Who knows.

We dug in the dirt.

Hi.

Ate sticks.

Did some jumping.

Swords at the ready, of course.

Because you never know when you’ll need to pull it out to deal with “droids and dragons.”

They’re a serious threat around these parts.

Look behind you!

Trees.

Yup.  They’re evil.  Pure evil.

But only for a moment.

Hmmmm…

We had so much fun outside, I have literally had to drag Anara in kicking and screaming as it starts to get dark.

Elephant Toothpaste

We did a little experiment with some “elephant toothpaste.”

 

I thought it was pretty neat stuff.

 

Zsolt was upset that it was all messy.

 

Anara was really fascinated.

She was so into it that we got quite the reaction when Daddy told her not to touch it.

It doesn’t matter that he said it in the nicest voice possible. She was mad!  She wanted so badly to just get in there and get all dirty.

After that, Zsolt wanted to make another baking soda volcano.  For whatever reason, that mess doesn’t bother him.

Copycats

Lately, Anara has been really big into doing whatever her big brother does.

It has caused a few interesting fashion choices.

Like when Zsolt walks around in the clothes hamper.

Anara needs to take a turn as well.

 

And when he’s in there without her.

She still tries to get as close as possible.

Until he finally just lets her in with him.

 

They walk around together for a bit.

 

And more often than not, fall down together.

And love every minute of it!

Sick Kids

Unfortunately, the kids have caught the sickness that I had last week.

They’ve had a couple of unhappy days.

Anara wants to be with her sheep pillow most of the time.

Zsolt likes to jump in with her and snuggle every now and then.

Especially when he knows she’s getting attention from it. 

Sadly, the weather outside has been beautiful and we haven’t been able to go out and enjoy it.

Hopefully it’ll all blow over soon and we can get back to normal everyday life.

Color Experiments

Zsolt and I did a few color experiments the other day with water and food coloring.

It was a big hit with Zsolt.

Too big of a hit.

All he wants to play now is “colors.”

Pouring in the color.

Stirring.

 

Yeah, I’ve got this.

Once we made the colors, we also played with making a few “water color” paintings.

While we had some stuff out, I let him play with a little vinegar, baking soda mixture.

 

I didn’t tell him what was going to happen when he mixed the two.

And so when it started bubbling over…

…he was a bit stunned.

COOOOOOOOL.

Now I just need to go to the store and buy more food coloring and vinegar.

If it remains this high in demand, I may have to go to Costco and really stock up!
